Or maybe it was design inspiration. Nevertheless, Falkner winery has taken the disgusting tactic of removing said complaints from their blog, without apology or otherwise. I’m thinking of making a Winery in their image, maybe Brady Winery? I’m more angered by Falkner’s response over anything else – atleast own up and not censor your content.
Simplebits is on the scene, and Airbag Industries has a much more detailed follow up.
Apparently the owner, Ray Falkner, is making claims that there is no comparison with Joyent or Corkd. Understandably difficult for someone with no expertise in this industry – however, it’s inappropriate to disregard the claim as irrelevant or unapparent… since he has no expertise in this industry, though I thought a company that delves into a form of art would be a bit more understanding. As a northern california wine drinker, I guess I’ll enjoy wine experimenting elsewhere.
The site was designed by Third & Grand, with side by side flickr comparisons of the work in question and the icons.
Update: The designer makes a very sincere apology – and to tell you the truth, I believe him. While I do not see any need for further retribution, the damage has been done.
